Postpartum Depression and Beyond

As obstetricians, we look after our patients throughout pregnancy and see that they have a fantastic delivery, either normal or cesarean but at times we fail to concern ourselves with their condition especially the mental condition post delivery. In this lecture, Dr. Jyothika Desai along with Dr. Prabha Chandra discuss the various mental health problems women go through in the postpartum period and soon after childbirth such as postpartum depression and also the lesser known conditions like postpartum anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, postpartum psychosis and mother-infant bonding problems.
